Pioneering theatre company Theatro Technis has been performing in Camden for 55 years. Its current home, a former Church House, sits just moments away from the pubs, clubs and music venues of Camden High Street. It might be overshadowed by the attractions the High Street or the West End has to offer. But the volunteers that have ensured that the show remains on the road are justly proud of their contribution to the borough’s cultural life . . . and they still welcome volunteers to join them. Tom Boyle speaks with founder George Eugeniou to discover more.

Take Charge of Your Waste - Why Compost?
When Camden Community Radio’s Cina Aissa went to collect her free compost bin at Regis Road Recycling Centre, she met Alex Rainbow from London Community Resource Network. She asked why free compost bins were being distributed in North London and what was the point of making compost. She heard about taking charge of our own waste and a number of other projects, including community food composting, textile re-use and furniture restoration. Hear all about it!!

Kingsgate Community Centre has a fundraising fair to celebrate 30 years of work, Love Music Hate Racism Festival is on at Rich Mix till 1am tomorrow; ‘Regents Canal Folk Opera is on tonight at Canal Cafe Theatre and at other venues over the next few weeks. The Regent’s Canal is being cleaned up for the Olympics. Charlotte Briere Edney meets those involved and finds out what is behind the project. Serena Britton went to the launch of a spanking new music studio for young people. She talked to the Mayor of Camden and others about how the project came about. A vegetable garden on the roof of the Maiden Lane Community Centre seems to be attracting the interest of local people who look forward to eating the produce.
