In February 2010, the Local Government information Unit presented Camden Councillor Alexis Rowell the Sustainability Councillor of the Year Award.
Representing Belsize ward, Cllr Rowell has been dubbed the Eco-Councillor for setting up and chairing Camden Council’s Sustainability task force, establishing community environmental group Transition Belsize, running consultancy Cutting the Carbon, and playing a key role locally as a co-ordinator in the 10:10 campaign.
In this interview the Liberal Democrat talks to Ben Cooper about his work in the community, the reality of climate change and peak oil, why he doesn’t really believe in political parties and his love of Camden.
