Sharon Sexton talks to Catherine Carroll about Liza Minnelli
This week Camden Community Radio welcomed back Sharon Sexton who came in to tell us about her one-woman show “Somewhere Under the Rainbow” which she’s performing at the Camden Fringe.
Sharon was with us in the Spring to talk about “A Fit Wife for a Revolutionary” which portrayed events around the Easter Rising in Dublin in 1916.
This time round she’s bringing us a glittering evening with the ups and downs, stories and music of Liza Minnelli. That sequin encrusted performance takes place at 7.30 on Friday 19th at the Camden Irish Centre.
Sharon also talked to Catherine Carroll about the emotional last night of the West End hit Billy Elliott and revealed how her theatre company, Biscuits for Breakfast, is hoping to encourage budding playwrights.

Whats On in Camden for the week beginning 3rd February 2013
On Monday, the Electric Ballroom hosts the NME Award Show 2013 at which ‘Dinosaur Junior’ will play and there is a 9pm show from the Rat Pack the same night at the Etcetera Theatre. There is an open mic Comedy night at Camden Head in the High Street on Tuesday and, on Thursday, there is a rare chance to listen to the North African and Middle Eastern music of Karama with Maya Youssef and Elizabeth Nott . Don’t miss Jurgen Teller’s photography exhibition ‘Woo!’ which continues at the ICA .

The Film Festival of Indigenous Peoples is on at venues in and close to Camden until 21st October: Coram Family will be holding music and art sessions for families with children aged 0-5 three mornings this week: UCL Lunch Hour Lecture features Prof Catherine Hall on Mary Prince, Elizabeth Barrett-Browning and nineteenth century anti-slavery campaigns: ‘His Teeth’ plays at the Only Connect Theatre play. Written by Ben Musgrave, it was inspired by conversations with ex-offender, Ralph Ojotu: Camden Parent’s Together is at Haverstock School, 1pm-5pm on Saturday – details, 020 7974 6649: Dance Around The World at Cecil Sharp House provides a chance to see the Peruvian Scissors Dance which UNESCO has designated as ‘Intangible World Heritage’; Try out a range of sports and activities at Give it a Go at Kentish Town Sports Centre; Bloomsbury Festival mixes it all up with 150 events over two and half days.
